Funny. Some people just decide they don't like it anymore. I guess when you're ready you decide. How to get ready may be to find why you like it and change your mind, otherwise it's impossible to quit when you really want to smoke. It's a two sided battle. When on side gives up the other wins. I hope that's confusing enough. Maybe you have to give up wanting to smoke while you give up trying to quit so your not thinking about it at all. It might be a little bit of judo. Trying to quit is focusing attention on it too. I wonder if you don't have to ask for direction everytime and really meditate on the solution instead of the proble. That is something like the law of attraction. What you think about you bring about. They say a whole lot of positive affirmations restructure your brain, but you said is it hard. That thought makes it hard, it's hypnotic. Better to say it's easy. They say that saying it's hard is part of the cigarrette companies manipulation so you have to keep saying it's easy. Crazy, but it seems to help.

If a person is addicted, it's very hard to quit. I have read that it's easier to kick heroin than to kick nicotine addiction. But, if a person is trying to quit, they need to realize that the *cravings* only last about 20 seconds. But those *cravings* come very often. Cigarette smoking actually creates receptor sites in the brain that can only be satisfied by nicotine. When those receptor sites don't get the nicotine, the brain goes nuts about it.
I would definitely use a variety of "stop smoking" methods to try to quit. Peace.
