bare with me, last night i watched the end of extream makeover home edition, if you've never seen the show what they do is find a family who have had it a bit rough and live in a crappy house, they send them on holiday for a week and while they are away they rip their house down and build a new one(a really really nice one) i've seen it a few times before and the result is always the same, the family involved is so grateful that they cannot express their gratitude in words, it got me wondering, what would most people rather have, a job like that where you make a profound change in somebodys life(the reward of their gratitude must be emence) and they probably get paid a decent wage, or a job where you get paid a fortune but don't really have any other kind of reward, so what job would you rather have?

I would take the first option. I have a job like that. I'm working in a job where the pay is decent - by decent I mean it's enough to pay the bills, buy things I need and have just enough left over for life's little pleasures. Best bit of the job though is that I get to help people - I feel like I'm giving something back, ya know?

2. Tobey Maguire as my real-life husband.
3. A long, happy, healthy, immortal life.
4. A beautiful, brand new car.
5. A brand new cell phone.
6. Children with Tobey Maguire.

I'm a school teacher and there are plenty of non-monetary rewards. However, I'd rather sweep the streets or clean toilets if I could get MORE money for the same hours.

It's much more self-sufficient to get a noble job. However, if one cannot manage with his/her finances and support his/her family, which is always in first place, striving for a higher salary with less appraise of his qualities is a natural action to take.

I choose the Former! My job pays ok (I get by) but the human side of things is far more rewarding!
