It was also suggested that the BBC is guilty of political correctness, the overt promotion of multiculturalism and of being anti-American and against the countryside.
"It is hostile to conservatism and the traditional Right, Britain's past and British values, America, Ulster Unionism, Euro-scepticism, capitalism and big business, the countryside, Christianity, and family values.

"Conversely it is sympathetic to Labour, European Federalism, the State and State spending, mass immigration, minority rights, multiculturalism, alternative lifestyles, abortion and progressiveness in the education and the justice systems."
BBC Trustee Richard Tait, a former editor-in-chief of ITN and one of the report's authors, said: "The BBC cannot allow its output to be taken over by campaigning groups any more than by political parties."

What do you think? Agree or disagree?

On reading the article in the Mail, although of course this can be assumed as another spin on the point (ie. formed by the media rather than a public act), it is fairly obvious that "News" is now just topics as those in the organisation wish to promote, rather then it being the topics as would be classed as important to the populous as "events happened" to be reported on.

As a company that we fund, I find it disgusting that the reporters, producers and executives now see themselves as effectively a political party, influencing the ideals and thoughts of the public. Views of the corporation coming ahead of neutral position is not the position we as the populous should be paying for. We will not be brain-washed, we will just become more and more angry.

I suppose it's fair to say the worldview of the BBC is vaguely left/liberal, but in that it merely reflects the worldview of the majority of its viewers. It's certainly not some kind of conduit for vanguardist or ultra-left opinions, despite what some of the more biased commentators would like you to think. If Rupert Murdoch thinks it's too left-wing it must be doing something right!

the BBC has become a tabloid television broadcaster. it hardly ever puts money into quality programmes now. once in a while a decent show will appear. As for it's news its so similar to sky news now again trashy tabloid style. as for it being left wing look on its web site a real labour bashing site especially in the 'your comments' section, you can almost guarantee that all comments will be right wing and conservative. I would say dear auntie Beeb is more loony liberal!

I think the BBC is guilty of covering up the true nature of military casualties in the Iraq war. So often I read an article about a suicide bomb in Iraq, or a article about politics in Iraq and then somewhere in the middle there is one line buried within the rest of the text which says something like
"elsewhere 5 US servicemen were killed by insurgents".

When British soldiers die it makes headline news.

Note: Tory questioner selectively choosing Tory quotes to support a Tory agenda.

The actual report into the BBC made it clear it was not guilty of left wing bias.

Government controls the BBC with a rod of iron.

Staff know from bitter experience that if you criticise the blessed Tony (pbuth) that YOU WILL BE FIRED.
Even if you are the chief executive.

There is a precedent. Putin did the same in Russia.

By the way whatever really happened to that nice Mr Kelly?

There are some point you make that I agree with. One thing for sure is all news media' s have there own agenda. Most of witch is tearing our culture apart. They have taken the Freedom of speech way too far. In fact, they abuse it. I think they do more to fuel the fire in most situations.

It's not the BBC's job to lecture us and impose their values on us. The matter what they might be. Impartiality is what their paid to produce.

You can have an opinion but it's evil to force your opinion on others.
