Well actuall sore, stinging, imflammed nipples. I can't even have shower water or my shirt touch them without hurting. I am 13 and just started my period, could that have something to do with it?

i had a similar problem when i was your age. i believe it is just the development of the breast tissue and the nipples enlarging. rubbing ointment on them might help. i would talk to your mom about it though to ask her advice, and maybe eventually go to the gynocologist if the condition worsens.

Hormones will make your breasts tender, especially when you are first developing and around your period. I've never heard of just your nipples being sore though. All nipples are sensitive to some degree. It hurts mine to have a jet of shower water directly hitting them. If you have concerns see your doctor.

This could be an infection but the only way to be sure is to see your dr and have them evaluate the situation further to see what they think could be going on.
