There are ants crawling all over our apple tree ever since the tree started to bloom.?

How can I safely get rid of these ants?

The ants are after the nectar in the blooms. Your nursery supplier can provide you with a product called
"Tanglefoot" that you use to paint a band around the base of the tree. Follow the directions on the container and the insects cannot climb the tree. Petroleum jelly spread in a four inch wide band around the trunk will work also but will not last long.

I have never planted a tree ~ but my son planted a tree in memory of a very good friend who died ~
