you can buy test kits online and send them back to the company for testing. You need the dad to my knowledge. You may call one of these companies on the internet and ask them if a sibling match can be done that will tell you if you have the same father but will more than likely be more expensive if even possible. Get the kits, get the dad to open his mouth, swab it, swab yours, send in the kit along with about $200 and you will get your results.
By the way for one dad and one child testing I have seen them run as low as $89 on the internet. I paid $200 for one adult with two children through the court.

DNAlabsinternational.com came up when I put in a search for Texas labs. They do paternity testing, most labs do crime testing only. All labs are very backed up. It is expensive, and you will have to be very patient.
Strictly speaking, to test DNA you don't have to go to the lab, swabs are sent to the lab by mail.
