Yes you can swim in the ocan if you are using a tampon. It will not attract the sharks. It's a very old myth that has been handed down from one generation of women to another.

When swimming, the water pressure would prevent any discharge. Therefore, i doubt that it will attract the sharks. However, when you step out of the water, it might be unsightly..

I personally is not happy to swim among . when someone has her period.You must respect the hygienic condition of others. In my view you are corrupting the water with out the knowledge of others.YOU must keep clean your surrounding to others.What I learn ,shark is very sensitive to blood, besides yours ie impure one, I think shark will be more attracted.
