The whole show is ridiculous and develops backwards social skills. I dislike it. People are better served by actually singing or picking up an instrument than to listen to Simon Cowell laugh or mock at a contestant.
However, to answer your question, Chris Daughtry is the only contestant whom I feel could have made it without the extra hype generated by this derogatory show.

I liked Gina Glocksen of Season 6, because she was the only rocker chick, and her voice isn't that bad. Plus she sang Evanescence!
But if I were to choose the one who made it out so far, it's definitely Kelly Clarkson. She blows me away with her amazing success,
