Yes there is and I think its getting worse all the time.

Paedophiles seem to have infiltrated all walks of life i.e. the judiciary, church, politics schools etc and if they get caught they don't get proper punishment.

When they are let out, back into society after minimum sentences ,they, and not the victim or future victims are protected. Everything seems to be back to front with regards to law and punishment.

As for why I don't know, Maybe its because society in general is degenerating and we are being asked to believe that abnormal behaviour is normal.

Probably the Internet and the ease of acquiring child porn has a lot to do with it.These freaks are generally unable or unwilling to change their behaviour and along the way they manage to seduce others into their perverted ways.

I really don't think that there is more now compared to in the past. I'm more inclined to believe that it was previously "swept under the carpet". The victims were normally too scared to open up and tell anyone about it and the abusers had a quiet confidence in that this would be the case. I was a victim and I was terrified of telling anyone because I didn't think that I would be believed and I also felt that I wouldn't be able to deal with the consequence of telling anyone. I always thought that somehow it would be my fault! Thank God that in this day and age, there is Child Line etc., and children are made aware that it is never their fault, it is the fault of the abuser and that it should be brought out into the open. Only then can the abuser get their punishment and the victim can receive any necessary counselling etc., to enable them to try to put the whole sordid experience behind them and hopefully get on with normality in their lives.

I am at 2 minds with this one. Back in the old days if it was ever found out a man was sexually abusing or beating the crap out of any family members the people from that town who knew them would drag them out into the street and beat the living hell out of them, so th abuser would make it clear that NO ONE will say ANYTHING or there would be hell to pay. There also wasn't welfare or any third party help therefore less awareness.

These days everyone is so private, plus the law gets involved now, you can get sued for assaulting the assaulter! But there is now more anomynous help for the abused eg, hotlines womens shelters, Department Of Childrens Services and such. Its a tough call.

I think it must still happen at the same rate it used to, only now there is more help, more education about such matters and more awareness.

No there isn't more child sexual abuse now then before, the only thing now is that it is reported and the molesters are prosecuted. In the past child molestation was something that wasn't talked about and the poor little victims did not now what was happening to them. Now children are taught, from a very young age, what is proper and what isn't. Knowledge is a deterrent. God Bless.

People have been ignoring to teach values to their children. And TV has been desensitizing kids from things they don't know where to place those thoughts or images because they are having them at earlier times in their lives when they should just be playing and not thinking about grown up issues that are marked into their minds at a age where they can not handle or place them.

i do not think there is More thank it is just more out in the public. thank goodness that there are Strong individuals that can put these people behind bars.i was abused as a child and i did nothing i just put up with it and prayed it would be over. i told my parents and it ended. i think it is good that we put there faces of evil on TV and in papers the more we get off the street the safer we will be.

I doubt it. It might just be more out in the open now. Most of the cases against the churches are from the past.
