I'm not too fond of cats as they terrify me for some reason, I'm a big dog person and adore them, I have a beautiful 12 year old Golden Retriever who I just love to bits.

I live with 14 year old Jet - a huge black cat, we got him to keep Beauty (a tom cat) company. Before them we had Samson (a little black cat) and Twinkle (another cat .... I was not responsible for any of these names by the way). We did have one dog called Mac in the midst of all these cats.
I am planning to get another couple of kittens from the shelter when Jet dies ..... "Jet! ........ JET!!!!!! Won't be long now!" and am already picking names out; here is the current short list (they'll both be tom cats by the way)
Clarty
Bottom
Tuna
Chicken
Face
Fido
Rover
Gavin
Tim
The first two because they sound so nice together, the next two because it'll save time at meal time, at the minute I'm shouting "Jet!! .... tuna!!!!" so it'll save a word therefore save time.
Face because I've taken to calling his highness 'face' because that's all of him I see peeping through the curtains when I come home on a morning.
Fido and Rover .... because they're cats, that's why!!!!
The last two so that I can say that I live with Gavin and Tim and they walk all over me and lick my feet when I'm in bed. I like those names at the minute.

Depends on the personality. There's some cats and dogs I like and some I can't stand.

I love them all! I currently have 2 cats,
but I would love to get a dog some day soon.

I'm a cat person as anyone who's seen my 360 page can tell but I also like dogs and one of my favourite ads was the one with the english bulldog that kissed the cat which in turn kissed a mouse, Soppy or what but theere you have it.

I used 2 hate cats but then i got a grey tabby one an called her tigger. She has 4 gorgeous kittens now who are 11 days old! So i love them!! Love dogs 2.

I don't hate cats...but I don't like them. I'm more of a dog person. I have a Rottweiler.
However...when I was a kid, my friend had this cat named Nemo (that was way before that fish movie) and I swear it was the coolest cat ever. It scared most of the dogs in the neighborhood.

i love cats...
i've had both cats and dogs as pets, but i much prefer cats... they are more independent, and not as needy as dogs.
lol - just read some of the other answers, and it looks as though i like cats for some of the reasons that other people dislike them. yes, cats can be 'proud' creatures, but i like that.
