Has anyone stayed at Luxor? Circus Circus? Excalibor??

We've stayed at the Luxor. The rooms are small with slanted ceilings but kind of cool. However, they take *forever* to get to from other places in the hotel, including the front desk. And they're difficult to find.

We've also stayed at the MGM Grand, which was very cool. The room was nice, the bathroom big, and it was neat at night because there was a green glow of neon around the window seeping into the room. Also, if you stay there, get a chocolate shake from room service. They are awesome.

MGM Grand also has a thoroughly awesome swimming pool with waves.

"Paris" is cool, too--really neat looking on the inside, like sidewalks in France with cafes and a half-size replica of the Eiffel Tower which you can ride to the top for an amazing view of Vegas and the strip.

The Rio and the Venetian are supposed to be really nice too, from what I've heard.

Excaliber is less nice, but looks fun. We only ate there.

Caesar's Palace is gorgeous inside and out, but we haven't stayed in the rooms.

It's almost better to decide what shows you want to see, and then stay at a hotel where the show is, or one within walking distance, as the wait in the taxi cab line at the front of hotels takes forever, and is unpleasant in the heat.
Have fun!

Hi. Yes, I have stayed at the Excalibur 12 times. It is a great, not to fancy hotel if you have children. They have a fantasy faire midway which has tons, and I mean TONS of games and prizes to win. "Down there", they also have 4-D film rides for kids, or even adults. The Casino is quite large with Keno and a sports book, etc. Excalibur has many shops, a couple pools, and many great restaurants. Luxor;I have stayed there once. It is a beautiful hotel for a single, couple, or a family. It is more than likely the most attractive hotel on the strip. As you probably know, it is shaped like a pyramid and had the Egyptian theme. If your room is on a high level, you have to take an inclinator. The Luxor has great restaurants, casino games, and shops. If you want to get to the Excalibur by foot you can take the moving walkway. If not, they have a tram that goes to Mandalay bay and Excalibur. The Luxor is highly recommended with the highly famous Carrot Top doing nightly shows there. The rooms are beautiful also. Circus Circus; I have not stayed there. It is farther down on the strip. All I really know is that the have a Indoor theme park for kids. Sorry.....

I have stayed at both Circus Circus and The Riviera in the last couple of years. I like them both very much they are on the cheaper end of hotels but I have never had a problem at any of these places. I also have stayed at the Golden Nugget but thats downtown. That is a very nice hotel. The real nice places are just too expensive.

I got married in Vegas and the most resonable rates in 2003 at least were Aladdin's, which is now owned by Planet Hollywood.. It was right across from the Bellagio and we had a front facing room. So, we could see the fountains at night! It was pretty much right in the center of everything.. It was under $100 a night.. It also had a mall inside and a really good buffet that featured food from around the world. It also has a pool The room was nice/clean. The bathroom was huge! Circus Circus was dumpy, except for the restaurant The Steakhouse...best steaks in Vegas ! MGM grand was too big !

no dude you have it all wrong, those hotels that you listed are like the worst ones! Excalibur and Circus Circus are the 2 oldest and ghettoest hotels on the strip, and the Luxor im not sure if its that bad but its eqyptian theme-kinda freaky. Take it from a party girl the best hotels that ive stayed at are Cesars (stayed there and loved it, they even upgraded our room for free), Mirage, Palms, Hard Rock, MGM Grand, Bellagio and Venecian, they're all on great spots on the strip except palms and hard rock arent. Hope that helps.

I usually stay at Casa de Mom and Dad. When I took my fiance in Dec 05 for his 35th bday we spent a night at the Luxor and LOVED it.
My aunt who visits about every 2 months swears by the MGM Grand.

Haven't stayed on the Strip...Like Fremont Street downtown. Hotels ae older, but have had good experiences at the Plaza and fitzgeralds, and the old Lady Luck! rooms are comfortable, but who goes to Vegas to sleep! The difference in the cost of the rooms on Fremont Street versus the Strip allow you to Taxi to the strip for less than what you would pay to stay on it! and when you're on Fremont Street, and you get ready to sleep....you only have a 5 minute walk to your room regardless of what Casino you are playing in!

I always stay at the Bellagio. Always get the same suite overlooking the water feature. It has its own hallway, king bed, 4 tv's, 6 phones, dining table, 2 bathrooms, sofas, fresh flowers, sauna and steam room. Its really lovely. I never would have reserved this suite had I not messed up my reservations 7 years ago. It's about $700 a night, but its way worth it. Plus the room service is the best!!
