Actually, yes. The alligator is a living dinosaur. It has remained unchanged for millions of years, making it both a dinosaur (a lizard that lived millions of years ago) and a living breathing animal today.

There are a few animals that have survived unchanged from the era of the dinosaur. Like the coelacanth..

So there to all the nay sayers.

There are no known critters that would be classified as dinosaurs left alive anywhere in the world.

Birds are probably descended from dinosaurs, or at least a close thecodont relative of the dinosaurs, but they are not considered to be dinosaurs any longer - just as you wouldn't claim that Crossopterygian fish are still alive because all terrestrial vertebrates are descended from them, birds don't count as living dinosaurs.

Other 'primitive' reptile groups such as crocodilians, or tuataras are only distantly related to dinosaurs - and are not direct ancestors or direct descendants of dinosaurs at all.

There are persistent rumours that dinosaurs might still exist in some secret, hidden valley / forest / hollow earth / space alien facility / secret government research station or whatever, but few of these rumours are even vaguely plausible.

Amongst the most plausible rumours (which isn't saying much) include the tales of a dinosaur-like beast living in the depths of the Congo basin. There is little evidence that this creature, known as Mkele Mbembe even exists, let alone that it is actually a dinosaur.

There are also critters like Nessie, or strange flying creatures sighted in the American Southwest that have been attributed to unknown populations of plesiosaur or pterosaur. Note that even if these creatures existed (which they likely do not), that they still would not technically be dinosaurs.

Paleontologically, there are no dinosaur fossils known to exist after 65 million years ago - the end of the Cretaceous period. Sadly, it appears that dinosaurs died out completely at that time, and mammals evolved to take over many of the ecological roles as large terrestrial herbivores and predators.

No, there are no places in the world where dinosaurs are alive yet. But yes, there is a creature which lives..and is older than dinosaurs..
they are bacterias & cockroach. Alligator is a successor of a alligator lookin' dinosaur but it isn't a dinosaur.

A creature looking like the Edmontosaurus lives in Indonesia (still alive), the largest speices of lizard. It's Komodo Dragon.

Reptiles are not descendents of dinosaurs but reptiles and dinosaurs have a common ancestor. The hip joint in reptiles is not found in dinosaurs. Birds are descended from one group of dinosaurs but dinosaurs as such are long gone.

There are plenty of descendants, like lizards, alligators, monitor dragons, crocodiles, and even birds. But none of those is a real "dinosaur".
