I have a prediction that Harry will end up being a Horcrux {as a result of Voldemort's faulty spell and his killing his mother and father before it.} I think after destroying all the rest of the Horcruxes, he will face Voldemort and win in the final duel, and then realize something's wrong and that he will have to kill himself in order to save all the rest of the world.

What do you think of this prediction?

Harry isnt a Horcrux.
My reasons for this are because Harry has to destroy all the Horcruxes before he can go after Voldemort. So Harry cant be a horcrux himself. Who would kill Voldemort? After all Harry is "the one with the power to kill the Dark Lord" lol

I disagree. Harry is not a horcrux!

This idea makes no sense in light of the prophesy for one, and why would Voldemort put part of his soul into someone he might have to fight anyway. If he kills Harry, he's wasted part of his soul.

Also, I reject the idea that Harry became a horcrux as an unintentional byproduct of the rebounding of Voldemort's killing curse (BTW, the spell was not "flawed", Harry had protection which Voldemort did not factor in). The byproduct is known and is the empathic bound between the two, and that's all, IMHO.

Remember too that all the horcruxes have to be destroyed before Voldemort is vulnerable to death. If Harry is a horcrux, then Harry must die first, then Voldemort. So it would mean that Harry would have to loose a killing curse at Voldemort just after Voldemort loosed a killing curse against him--that is very tricky timing!.

I take the prophecy to mean that vanquishing Voldemort it Harry's job--no chance that Voldemort becomes vulnerable with a Harry sacrifice and with Harry dead, someone else kills Voldemort. Remember that Voldemort is very powerful wizard and other witches or wizard likely can't pull it off, as a practical matter.

Your thought is the best try at making this idea work, IMHO. However I think it is still flawed. Note the second paragraph. If Harry kills Voldemort's body before all the horcruxes are destroyed, Voldemort's soul is still out there, disembodied and he can go after a new body once again. For Harry to kill himself at that point would be locking the barn door after the horse has been stolen.

Good try, though.

I'm thinking it could be true..you know while I was reading the 6th book and dumbledore explained about the horcruxes it immediately came to my mind Harry was one fo them. You see, if you remember in the first book when harry goes for his wand he tries several of them till he finds one with the phoenix feather or something like that and then someone mentions there are only 2 wands like that and the other is owned by voldemort..the how supposedly the scar connects them..then in the 5th book you can see why harry has to take occlumency for he can go into voldemort's mind and he has to control that..and there are so many reasons why I think he could be a horcrux obviously a part of voldemort is inside him..if it wasn't no fuss about him would be made. But I don't think he would end up killing himself..you see if he destroys all horcruxes and even voldemort himself it's true voldemort wouldn't be killed completely for there would be a part of harry inside him but if harry can control that then he doesn't have to kill himself. He just doesn't have to ba a dark wizard or do the same stuff voldemort did, if he's good then I think no harm would be made. Although in the magic world anything is possible maybe there is a way to get the horcrux out of him without him being dead and all..I hope there is. I wouldn't want Harry to die, I mean Sirius & Dumbledore gone? that sucks..but definitely Harry can't die. He's the main thing there :) I love it how I found someone who shares my passion for harrry potter lol..none of my friends do and it's like I was there thinking about the same theory you were thinking and they thought it was pointless lol..anyways let's hope this book is as good as they all have been.

Honestly, there's no telling whether Dumbledore is dead or not. Writers; along with directors and actors say untrue things to throw fans off about their future works. In the 6th book, Dumbledore said "Please" to Snape, indicating that he wanted to be killed. This goes in favor that Dumbledore is dead and will probably give advice to Harry from the portrait in the headmaster's office. However, the book also had the killing scene a little oddly described, mostly with the contradicting flash colors of the curse.

And I highly doubt Harry is a Horcrux. I think it was stated that Harry had to destroy all of the horcruxes before he killed Voldemort, so it wouldn't make sense if he killed himself first. But of course, I could be wrong about what I remember. I haven't read the book for a while.

I don't think Harry is a horcrux.
Voldemort has been trying to kill Harry for all these years because of what the prophecy said, by killing Harry he would be destroying the piece of his soul he stored in Harry, wouldn't he? Which is exactly what he doesn't want.

I'd like to think Dumbledore isn't really dead. If you remember, at some point in the book I think it's Hagrid that mentions to Harry that Dumbledore and Snape were arguing on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Snape telling Dumbledore that he couldn't do whatever Dumbledore was asking him to do and Dumbledore saying he must do it.
I'm thinking that Dumbledore was trying to save Snape from dying because Snape would've died had he broken the Unbreakable Vow he made with Draco's mother.
I've tried to think about ways around the fact that Snape killed Dumbledore but I don't know if an Unbreakable Vow can be tricked into thinking Snape kept his promise to Narcissa and killed Dumbledore, therefore keeping Snape alive, when in actual fact Dumbledore isn't dead, but this seems unlikely to me.
The only thing I can think of is Dumbledore coming back as a portrait and offering Harry advice. Which would suck, to be honest. Dumbledore was one of my favourite characters.

As for Harry dying, I haven't got a clue. I've got used to the idea that it's a huge possibility he may die though. I think if Harry does die that Voldemort will die alongside him.
I think that would be a good ending, if they both died, while I REALLY don't want Harry to die I think letting the good guy live happily ever after would probably be a bit predictable and possibly dissapointing to alot of people.

I am on the fence whether to believe that Harry is a Horcrux or not. I am leaning now to the side that Harry is a Horcrux. Mainly what has convinced me is a theory I have read. I am providing the address so you can decide for yourself.

i think that you have put a lot of thought into this and i love that. i love harry potter, but i don't think voldemort would make a living thing one of his horcruxes. isn't that what dumbledore said in the 6th book? but i personally don't want to think too much about what is going to happen in the last book, so i don't get me hopes up on something. but i would love to talk about this further. i could talk about harry potter all day!

ok i want to add a few things, after reading the other comments. dumbledore IS dead. JKR said she wasn't going to add any new characters but we already know that regulus black is a relative of sirius's, so he wouldn't be a new character. and "one must live while the other dies" that means the ONE of them has too die. not BOTH of them. i really hope that JKR will not disappoint us by killing off harry.

well no i dont think harry is a horcrux coz voldemort wont make a living horcrux as it may prove fatal to his immortality plans!but probably harry will have to sacrifice himself for finishing voldy.as rowling said she doesnt want any sequel to harry potter series she will in all probability kill harry!but i do hope iam totally wrong & harry survives(and remember both cant di, one has to)

That may be it. i believe Harry is a Horcrux as well but i don't think he will have to kill himself. J.K. Rowling said she'd kill Harry off but would she really give away something THAT big? I read in a book about harry Potter and what could happen in the last harry potter and it said that it was possible for Harry to destroy the horcrux in him without destroying himself.

i know this theory is pretty much the biggest of all of them when it comes to the new book, but one blatantly obvious fact remains.
only one of them can live, and the other must die.
that means either harry lives and voldemort dies, thus restoring all peace to the world, or harry dies and voldemort triumphs, and lets not forget this is predominantly a book for kids, so it wouldnt send them a very good message if the good guy dies.

oh, and dumbledore isnt dead
