The way I see it there is none. The advantage is all to the woman.
If the marriage ends in divorce ,she gets 1/2 his wealth.
What does a man get that he could not have unmarried?

Tax benefits. And if you marry a woman who makes more money than you, and you stay married for 10 years before you divorce, she will have to pay YOU alimony for the rest of your life.

Men get half too! If a women is well off, the guy gets half of her belonging in a divorce.
2nd, most women want a commitment before they have a family will a man. If your going to play house, and have everything that a married couple has, then why not just get married?
Also, after so many years together (depends on the state) you are considered in a common law marriage. If you separate, it's the same as a divorce.

lol, how can you see the a woman's advantage as getting 1/2? that doesn't seem like an advantage of marriage, but rather an advantage of divorce!

honestly, if u aren't looking for that person that u want to stick by through thick and thin, grow old with, possibly start a family with... i can't think of anything! but that's not just for men... and if u wanna look at it from a 'gold-digger' perspective, y would u get married and tie urself to only one person when u could have TONS of men (or women for that matter) showering you with $$ and gifts?

but there ARE some people who don't want to just hop from person to person as soon as things get tough (or too close), and believe it or not, it IS possible to get satisfaction out of commiting yourself to another person. Go figure, huh?

Marriage should never be about the money. If any two people marry for money, to know that if they divorce, they will get alimony, then marriage should not be happening. For a man, the advantages are knowing that there is someone there to love him. Someone that will be there for them the rest of their lives. The man will never have to be lonely. Also, there is nothing better than seeing your wife, the women you love, give you a child.

Ever think about companionship and having someone who'll care for you, ride shotgun for you, give you children, cook for you. I think you sound selfish. You are the type of man who thinks everything is about You. Well, it's not, a man likes to come home to someone who is glad they are home and feel close to. Maybe you haven't met the right woman yet but marriage is alot more than worrying about how much she MIGHT get. IF you divorce.

The half thing works for the men too. It all depends on who screwed up really. The thing you gotta know is, Collect all your assets before you get serious with anyone. Half only comes into play when you obtained your wealth and things while you were with her, and then married her.

I was married for 12 years, and am now divorced for 7. I can tell you the difference of what I gave to marriage vs realtionships but I don't think you'd believe it. Or appreciate it. I am sorry that you've been so disillusioned.

I am sure it wont benefit you unless you are in love.

Marriage is more than a piece of paper. True marriage brings blessings. Its a fulfillment - Man leaves his Mum and Dad to be with his wife that they may bring children into the World.
