Very important. Winning the Gold Cup title will not only improve our ranking but will also give us a spot in the Confederations Cup in 2009. It will also boost our moral, coming from the disaster that was the last world cup.

No question about it. It is vital that USA win the Gold Cup so that they qualify for the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009, as a CONCACAF representative. The FIFA Confederations Cup is, in a way, a kind of a preview of the following year's FIFA World Cup 2010, also to be held in South Africa. The USA is no stranger to the Confederations Cup, so they know what it's all about. The cool thing about this tourney is that only ONE representative of each continental confederation can participate, alongside the host of the tournament, as well as an invited nation, depending on the circumstances of why they were invited. So if USA win the Gold Cup, they will have another shot at advancing to the Semi-finals at the Confederations Cup and hope to prove the world why America deserves to have more and more recognition in the Football (soccer) world. As well, this could not just boost themselves up in the FIFA world ranking, but also their morale, etc. So let's hope they DEFEND their cup this year!

Well, it's very important. The USA has gone from 29th to 16th because of the great campaign under Bradley. If we win the Gold Cup (which I think we will), we'll probably around 13th and this would give us a slot for the 2009 Confederations Cup. Winning the Gold Cup would give us our fourth continental championship. We have an interesting semifinal with Canada but we should beat them (it's going to be close but enough) and probably face the Mexicans in the final and beat them again... only this time for a championship. If we can keep our game, we can do wonders in the Copa America (maybe semifinals) and this will get us back on track. Come on USA, for those of you who suffered last year in the World Cup, this year will be our revenge! Thanks!

It is important for the team to win it. It will give them a little confidence when they show up at Copa America.
Winning the Gold Cup will help the US in the world ranking. But it will help it even more if they do well at Copa America and It will do great if they win the Confederations Cup.
GL!

Yes it helps our world ranking though that is irrelevant in itself. The most important thing it does is get us invited to the Confed Cup in 2007 in South Africa with the other confed winners. This gives us a nice tune-up in the venues that the next World Cup will be in against quality competition.

Very important, We (Mexico) have the leadership in Gold Cup titles, but if the US can win this one, you'll be tying Mexico in that spot.
And therefore USa can claim to be the #1 in CONCACAF
