...even if they didn't have a terrorist problem until we set up an occupation, then befriending the Saudi government which happens to be, ironically, the home of most of the terrorists?

Please spare me the rhetoric and cliche phrases I have been hearing from Republicans, and explain to me how the hell this makes any sense?

oh yeah, last time I checked, this in no way resembles World War 2. If you believe that we are fighting governments with panzer divisions, aircraft carriers, and an air force...you really need a history lesson to understand that there is a difference between terrorists and the 1st panzer division.

Not as many Muslim countries as possible. Just the ones they don't have business ties with. For example, the Bush family is much too heavily invested in Saudi companies and vice-versa for them to ever TOUCH Saudi Arabia, even though that's where Osama bin Laden is from, as well as 9 of the 9/11 hijackers, and it's actually a more repressive regime that Saddam's in a lot of ways (ex: only Muslims are allowed there, preferably Sunni. Christians and Jews were still allowed in Saddam's Iraq, even if they were persecuted. In Saudi Arabia, they can just kiss their asses goodbye).

Well I'll say a few things. First one is, don't report people, it's childish and immature, just keep clicking down, noone is forcing you to read the post.. I used to tattle in 4th grade, I stopped when I turned 11.

As to your question: They obviously don't think that is the solution and to suggest it is asinine bording on idiotic. If that was the case we would have invaded a lot more muslim countries right now huh? If you disagree with the invasion of Afghanistan I would wager you are a terrorist yourself. The president said we will not allow countries to harbor terrorism and clearly the LARGE majority of terrorists are muslim people. Iraq supported terrorism, you would have to be blind not to be able to realize that fact. I see rallys in many muslim countries of them burning US flags and spewing hatred for America all over the television and than I have to log in and read posts from an AMERICAN like you more or less siding with these people. Why do you have compassion for people who if they could would saw your head off and laugh while they were doing it... I don't understand your sympathy. If it were me, and I'm an extremist by today's standards, I would have nuked Afghanistan directly after 9/11 and wiped out a lot of corruption, terrorism, and Osama Bin Laden. It also would have sent the strongest message possible to ANYONE who doesn't like America or who was thinking about attacking America.. I bet they would think twice if they knew the consequences were going to be mighty steep. I miss the old polititions with balls who wanted nothing more than to show the world that America is not only the best place on Earth but the strongest and that we are not to be fu*ked with. Go ahead and flame me or report me now.

The U.S is not a christian country. It's a free religion nation. If it were a christian nation, it would be like Spain in the middle ages. EDIT: Osama bin laden bombed U.S embassies way before 9/11.

Oh, how I wish it were that simple.
Consider what our past policy of no effective response and inaction achieved - yep, you guessed it - they culminated in the events of 9/11.
For over 25 years, the Islamic radicals have slaughtered thousands of innocent men, women and children with pretty much impunity. I think that you will agree that their ideology of hatred and domination coupled with their horrific tactics of indiscriminately targeting innocent victims in crowded public places is not acceptable.
If the best answer is to invade these sanctuaries - then my answer is a resounding yes, we should invade and confront these dirt bags - someone had better confront them, rather than let this psycho behavior continue to fester and grow.
And, please, don't subscribe to returning to policies which have failed so miserably in the past.

"It is Hussein's vigorous pursuit of biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons, and his present and future potential for support for terrorist acts and organizations that make him a danger of the people of the United States."
Chuck Schumer Oct. 10 2002
"If Saddam rejects peace, and we have to use force, our purpose is clear: We want to seriously diminish the threat pose by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."
Bill Clinton Feb. 17 1998
"Yes, he has chemical weapons. Yes, he has biological weapons. He's trying to get nuclear weapons."
Nancy Pelosi Oct. 10 2002
"We have to defend our future from these predators of the 21st century.....They will be all the more lethal if we allow them to build arsenals of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons and the missiles to deliver them. We simply cannot allow that to happen. Their is no more clear example of this threat than Saddam Hussein."

No..Just Afghanistan...

Fellow Americans, our duty is before us. Let us go forward, determined to serve selflessly a vision of man with God, government for people, and humanity at peace. For it is now our task to tend and preserve, through the darkest and coldest nights, that ‘sacred fire of liberty’ that President Washington spoke of two centuries ago, a fire that... remains a beacon to all the oppressed of the world, shining forth from this kindly, pleasant, greening land we call America.” —Ronald Reagan

That's what Iraq is about.

No, that isn't what they think however, they are wise enough to have learned from previous presidents that sitting behind a desk and doing nothing, deferring the problem doesn't work, either.

Perhaps, those who are gifted and enlightened enough to try their hand at terrorist whispering should go for it and see how far it takes them. Hey, I elect you!
