My 5 year old daughter met someone from there this past weekend, and I was just wondering if anyone had any expreiences. They seem very nice and reputable, and I am planning on talking to them again this week, but I couldn't find much about them on the net.

the questions was (and i clearly need to be more specific).....has anyone had an personal experience with the agency called Hines and Hunt? I don't want smart *** ketchup answers, I just want to hear from anyone who knows exactly who that is, and who has had some direct experience with them. Thanks!

I've never heard of them and even though you've met with them and they may not have asked for money yet, if they do at any point or if they recommend specific classes or a specific photographer, then they are not on the up & up. Legit agents are bound by ethics not to do that because they could be (and are likely to be) getting kick backs from those kind of arrangements.

Also, any time you are approached in a public place by anyone who tells you are an agent, it's a lie. Legit agents get hundreds of photos mailed to them every day by people wanting to get into the business. They don't need to approach anyone.

If you want to find a legitimate agent to represent your daughter for commercials, TV & film go to Sag.org. Use the dropdown menu on the right labeled 'resources' and choose 'agent information'. On the next screen, on the left choose 'Find a SAG franchised agent' and follow the directions. You can look up agents all over the US, but there are higher concentrations where the work is (Los Angeles, NY, IL, FL, GA etc.)

Then you can send them her headshot (a snapshoto r two will suffice), resume (if she has one), and a cover letter stating that you are seeking representation for her and wait to see if they call you in for an interview.

Please remember that legitimate agents do not get paid until you do.

God luck!

You did not say which city you're in. It's helpful to have that information as more than one person can respond to your question.

Go to bbb.org and see if there are complaints about them.
If they are legitimate, they will not ask you to pay them.

Legitimate Talent Agents are NOT allowed to charge money to a performr.

If they ask for money RUN out of the office as they are a scam.

More than likely it is a scam. Go to the sag website and see if they're franchised. No matter what they tell you if they are not then forget it. If they want to sell you classes and pictures forget it. If they insist on you using their photog forget it. If the photog they recommend costs more than 300 bucks forget it.
It is a common scam and it's perfectly legal so you can't do anything about it if you get taken. If you want to e-mail me any more in depth questions you can. Please, I see people get scammed like this all the time. Be careful.

I have heard of them. They are on the up and up. In fact they want to represent my daughter, she also said that they don't get paid until we do. Very nice people.
