It all depends of the people; if the people really want Democracy, then they will be the ones that will ensure that their elected leaders make the reforms. By virtue of either the ballot box or the ammo box; the people have the final say-so on the decisions their elected leaders make and not the opposite way.

Egypt has one of the oldest cultures on Earth, and in all that time and countless regimes, has never been remotely democratic. In fact, the current government is undoubtedly the most democratic in the country's history,.

What's more striking is that I don't see evidence of a real public demand for democracy in Egypt or elsewhere in the Arab world. The demand there, as elsewhere, is for a more Islamist government that would have more popular support, but not be at all democratic.

Someday, no doubt, democracy will spread even to the Arab nations. But it seems unlikely to be soon.

Just so Egypt would pretend to like Israel

$6 Billion in the US can open a lot of training schools + hire more cops
