Because most of them believe that because they are good looking on the outside it gives them the right to be jerks. They believe that they have nothing to lose since they can get anyone that they want.

Because they rely on their good looks to get them out of bad situations instead of learning how to be kind to others, and how to overcome obstacles with character and fortitude. Thus, they are shallow and judgemental to make themselves shine. But that only works in highschool, not in the real world, not for long at least when it really counts
