A normal period can be anywhere from around three days to 7. It's different for every woman. Your first period will probably not be typical. When I menstruated for the first time, I stained lightly for over a week (it was chocolate-colored)! Then, I didn't get it again for two months. It took a while for my periods to get regular and predictable. Yours will, too.

My first period lasted 4 days, and I NEVER missed a cycle until I got pregnant with my son.
Be prepared at all times; keep a supply of minipads and regular pads handy, and learn the 'warning signs' - abdominal discomfort, food cravings, breast tenderness, bloating - you may have one or more of these, or none at all.
Find out what the school rules are for over the counter meds to keep at school [ probably in clinic ] in case you need an
ibuprofen.

It's possible that it's just spotting that will come and go. When it first starts it's not consistent and can sometimes even take a few months to have a consistent trackable period.
However, if you are really concerned talk to your doctor. They can give you the best adice.
Best of luck.

ok, first of all, i would be more than glad to help you, but no need for the details!

anywayyyyyy, the average period lasts anywhere from 4-7 days, with exceptions. you get it every month around the same day. but of course you have to wait a couple years for your period to regulate. and for your last question....well its different for everyone. when i first had mine, it lasted 5 days, and it wont only last one day just because its your first time.

good luck!
