One day, the temperature at 9:00 A.M. was 42°F, and by 2:00 P.M. the temperature was 57°F. What was the hourly rate of temperature change?

9:00-2:00 is 5 hours and 57-42 is 15 and 15/5 is 3
meaning the hourly rate of temperature is 3

Hourly rate = temperature change/hours for temp change.
Here you have a 15 deg F increase in 5 hours (I assume you know how to figure out time), so the answer is 3 deg F per hour increase.

from 9 am till 2 pm is 5 hours
57-42=15
soo if the tempurature change is constent then its 3 degrees per hour
