An all-rounder is a cricket player who excels at both batting and bowling. Although all bowlers must bat, and most batsmen end up bowling occasionally, most players are skilled in only one of the two disciplines

There is some confusion as to the precise definition that a player needs to fit in order to be considered an all-rounder. The generally accepted criterion is that a genuine all-rounder is someone whose batting or bowling skills, considered alone, would be good enough to win them a place on the team. By this definition, true all-rounders are quite rare, and extremely valuable to a team since they effectively count as two players.

In view of the above yardstick stipulated, an all rounbder need not be an excellent fielder

Sure he is considered as an Allrounder. Most of the past players such as Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Kapil dev , Ian Botham , Ravi Shastri etc would have struggled to match todays fielding standards.
Some of todays stalwarts such as Sachin and ganguly are average to poor fielders.

There is no strict definition for the term "All Rounder". However players like Kapil Dev and Iam Botham were also good fielders of their times. Classic example of an good bowler and batsmen but a poor fielder was Manoj Prabhakar.

Poor fielding is the weakness of India from the early days. These fat fellows dont want to sweat and so they expect the ball to come to them instead of they chasing the ball I. have seen any number of times the ball going between hands, legs,
and a lazy player not even bothering to run after it.Many times the ball slowly goes to the boundary line and you dont see any one chasng it.Also you observe that when a ball is thrown at the stumps it will be yards away,no fielder covers the stumps to receive it and make a run out,or the fielder hesitatingly putting his hand to avoid injury, and also acting as if he is injured.Except Yuvraj I have seen all seniors acting without
playing. All seniors must be sacked.Their records are only personal glory and a shame to the nation.

No,if any of the player is batting and bowling well but his fielding performance is so weak,he cannot be termed as an all-rounder,infacti have something more to say that a perfect all-ounder also needs to be good with gloves behind the wickets when in necessity.

The players you have mentioned are batting all rounders and most of them are part time bowlers but all are specialist batsmen.
To be an all rounder you got bat and bowl well in all forms of circket e.g.Jack Kallis,Symonds.e.t.c....Not necessary you got to be a good fielder.
