They aren't a part of the thinking population by their own standards! Isn't it my country right or wrong? Besides, imaginably Shrub could pull off some victory--like if Al Quaedda suddenly lost its grip. Then the 28% would get to work on us. The Republicans are the party of Lincoln? Yes I often hear them quote Lincoln: "Malice toward none."

Actually it was the circus guy, Barnum that said that, but I know what your getting at. Lincoln was actually a liberal, back at the beginning of the Republican party when it was the party for federalists and abolitionists which worked to limit states rights and end slavery. (as you see the guy the posted above me is either ignorant to the fact that at the time of Lincoln liberals were the Republicans and conservatives were the Democrats or he is just spinning Lincoln towards the conservative viewpoint).

Anyway, to answer your question the 28% that remain in support of Bush either are those that can be fooled all the time, or they are profiting from the Bush reign of terror.

He also said "People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be"... Sorry if your not happy with him. I am.
By the way, it's odd you quote Lincoln, while bashing Bush as being unpopular.
Abe Lincoln was so "Hated" by the Democrates who wanted Slavery, that they tried to leave the Union, and we had a Civil War. They still teach you about the Civil War at School? Slavery? I think it would be safe to say, Lincoln's "Approval" rating at the time would have been less than 0.
What if he had listened to the Southern Democrats?
The South may STILL have Slaves...

The whole quote is : You can fool all of the people some of the time, and SOME of the people ALL of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time (emphasis added).

Which should answer your question! :)

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity weren't around in Lincoln's day to tell people what to think. By the way, the 28% that are fooled all the time...... they are called "ditto heads"....

Well, I think that was P. T. Barnum (Barnum & Bailey Circus).

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, or all of the people some of the time... but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."

Good advice for any con artist or politician.
