One parent left when the baby was 4 months old.Only time we hear from her it's through the police on false charges.I am just waiting on the right age so I don't have to fear losing my baby anymore.

it all depends on the case, and usually the judge will want to interview the child to see how mature he/she is and a psych evaluation will probably be ordered. a good rule of thumb is 10 years old. if a parent has harmed the child though, the child will not get to choose.

It depends on the maturity of the child but in most cases it's age 12. Please tell me you aren't going to make a child make that kind of choice! That's a lot of responsibility and a terrible position for a child to be in. To choose between parents would have to be hard and very emotional.

i got to choose when i was 12! i chose my Momma!!! lovin it! haven't seen my dad in 4 years though so that kinda sux! but yea if you are over 12 choose...it will make life easier not to have 2 homes all the time!
