I think hundreds and hundreds of years ago in a teenagers free time if he wasn't working hard on the farm he would play chess in his free time (been around since the 1300's I believe) and families were large enough for a sibling opponent. Also playing cards have been around for ages so they could play with a deck of cards. Assuming they were upper-class and went to a school all morning and could hang out with the family at night. Otherwise work on farm dawn to dusk and when it got dark cards and chess by oil lamp, if it's too dark to keep working. Or if it's the dead of winter and their crops are on standby until Spring. There's still a ton of work to do I believe to get ready for next year, just not nearly as much, or as long. Also they could play games like hide and seek or kick the can or spin the bottle, sharks and minnows, king of the mountain, red light/green light, etc. My point is people have always had at least some free time, kids at least, in most cases just the form of entertainment has changed greatly.

No technology is harmful by itself, but the use (or abuse) given to it...
As much as it is recommended not to watch over One Hour TV a day, this is not only due to physical harm but also for lifestyle : a couch potato will never be able to exercise the minimum half an hour a day recommended!
Good luck! Bear hugs! ;-)

I did observe as quickly as I first began smoking that it made my physique experience drained and that i could have much less power. i assume it could additionally influence one mentally, considering this is a weak spot. yet laziness is a decision. i'm not lazy, and that i nonetheless smoke, yet I do experience it influence my wellbeing and restoration and that i be attentive to i could have extra power if i finished, yet this doesnt supply up me doing issues i prefer to do, like triathlons, cycling, kickboxing etc. So, do not permit smoking be an excuse for laziness. yet supply up if u can and that i'm particular u could have extra power in existence.

You bet they are! Just like the calculators in math class! We were never allowed to use a calculator as that would have been cheating!!
Another thing I have noticed about todays youth...not all, but most....they have an absence of imagination! I think this is a result of everything around them, thinks for them! In fact, for a few, it seems that their reality is in this screen somewhere!
Good question!

Certainly physically. Many hours are spent sitting which might have been spent actively. Mentally, I'm not sure it's laziness, but I do think breadth of knowledge suffers are concentration is spent on games etc. as opposed to other knowledge.

Heck yeah. Lazy as hell. Technology has helped many kids suceed and get to levels they wouldn't get to otherwise, but for most its just made them lazy and more anti-social.
