YES, provided that your PC's power supply has enough juice to power it. Geforce 2 draws less than 15watts. FX 5500 draws more than 40 watts.
Consider ATI 9600 Pro. It is better than FX 5500 but draws only 18 watts.

depend on your PC. what kinda pc you have? du have agp slot? by the way, 5500 is still weak. of course, its much better than geforce 2.

i don't think so, ge foce 2 has different motherborad support than the new fx5500, so i recommend to you to buy ASUS motherboard,before you but the fx5500..,cause it can support more types of graphic cards
