yes. when a girl starts menstruating, this is the time to see the gyno. he/she will give you a full exam and you can discuss your menstrual cycle. also they will discuss birth control and STD issues with you. it won't hurt, it's just a little uncomfortable, but mostly because you are nervous. you will have to get undressed but you will have a gown. have your mom or another trusted female adult go with you and be in the room with you. don't worry, you will be fine.

I also agree that you don't need to see a gyno unless you're over 18, having sex, or something's wrong. Perhaps wait until you start your period (how are you certain it's about to come? is it the first time?) and see how it goes. Could be you won't get heavy flow. But if you do then would be the time to see a doctor about maybe going on the pill, or other methods, if you can't handle the heavy flow. Your GP should be able to deal with that just as well as a gyno and if heavy flow is indeed genetic, rather than caused by a problem, they may not even need to do an exam.

Congrats on almost becoming a woman! This is an exciting time in a young girls (excuse me, woman's) life. Normally, young women do not see their gyno just because they started their first menstrual cycle. If there is a problem or if there is a history of heavy flow, than it might be something you'd want to discuss with your mom and let your mom make that decision. A lot of women who have heavy flow are put on birth control pills because it regulates their cycle, and also lessons the flow. I would wait to see how it goes at first. Most of the time, the first cycle is short with little bleeding, but is also very irregular. So if you get your period more than once a month, and then don't get it for 2 months, it's nothing to worry about. Your body is just trying to get itself regular. However, if it is heavy, you can see your gyno to help with regulating it, and relieving the heavy flow.

Good luck, and congrats again!

I wouldnt go see one right away. I would wait until a problem occurs until you go visit your gyno. If there is a problem, you and your mom should make an appointment. The gyno would then decide if you should take the pill for your problems. It will not hurt...it may feel uncomfortable because they insert a tool in you..but you shouldnt feel any pain

That's a thing none of us can really tell you. You could be the luckyone and not have it too bad. Also, since you haven't started yet, it might not be so bad. The first year is pretty mellow...but if there is a problem trust me you will know. And when that time comes if you think you need to go to a gyno...you tell your mom that. They might exam you, take a sonogram, tests, stuff like that.

you're a sprint youthful to be going to the gyno. The "G" shot they're speaking approximately is in all probability Gardasil. it particularly is a drug it is meant to circumvent cervical cancer. although, it hasn't been thoroughly examined and a few undesirable area outcomes or perhaps demise have resulted. once you pass, refer to the surgeon your self. tell the surgeon which you quite decide for to comprehend each little thing with regards to the shot and not basically the fluffy stuff on commercials. i've got heard the shot is extra painful than others. that is given thrice and that is often given like a familiar shot interior the arm or leg. you're able to consult the surgeon once you spot them so which you comprehend what's occurring. Take fee of your well being. I in no way have been given it with the aid of fact they don't understand plenty approximately it. they don't even comprehend in case you decide on for boosters years down the line or how long it lasts. It basically protects you back 4 of the a hundred lines of HPV (which has been related to cervical cancer). the particularly G spot shot is a shot given to reinforce a woman's sexual adventure round her G spot. That would not be for you although.

I don't think it's absolutely necessary to see a gyno just because you're menstruating. Usually the recommended age is 18 or whenever you become sexually active. But yes, if problems like that run in your family, then I think it is a good idea.

Tell your mom immediately; if not your
Aunt, grandmother or something. The first time you begin menstruation, that is when you need to go to the OBGYN. It will not hurt. Tell them you are new, just got your period. They will handle you with kid gloves, and use all small instruments if you are a virgin. Go now, don't wait, and be sorry. Heavy periods can be hereditary, or a sign of a much more serious disorder like endometriosis. Get checked out; Good Luck!

Unless your period is really painful or unless you become sexually active, you don't need to see a gyno. In fact, your family dr. could probably handle these problems.

An exam is not really painful, just uncomfortable. The dr. will need to get a sample of cervical tissue with a long q-tip to test for cancer. She will also need to put a couple of fingers in and check your ovaries for size (little is good). She will also probably check your breasts for lumps, and show you how to do this for yourself.

If you become active, get in to see the dr. pronto so that you can discuss with her how you are going to prevent getting pregnant or getting STDs. Either way, you want to stay safe AND healthy.

I wouldn't be a proper mom if I didn't tell you that the best way to lose your virginity is on your wedding night. Give it to someone who will appreciate it for the rest of your lives.

Doctors can prescribe birth control pills that will help regulate your period and make the flow more regular. You should talk to a gynocologists if you have concerns about your period.
