My opinion is similar to yours....The meaning of life is Living a Good Life of Benevolence and Dying a Good Death of Non-Regrets from living a well lived Benevolent life.
2. If all else fails, the "Meaning of Life" is Monty Python :) hehe

Few in the history of humanity has adequately answered this question.
There are even fewer who could answer this question today.
The meaning of life can be answered; however, there lingers a cloud over our eyes and that proverbial cloud is confusion.. in regards to our past. When all is said and done- the one thing that will out last us all- is the name... Joshua Ben Joseph .
Progress is the elixir of life, progress is the forward momentum of time and space, therefore to create your own progress is to be God-like. You did not create evolution but you can always participate in evolution/progress. Its not who you are that matters as much as who you are becoming. We choose to live by rules of right and wrong and our choices determine our direction ......and we can always change our direction; losing a little ground from time to time only impedes our progress. Grow and experience all that life has to offer, those values worthy of longevity will be your personality. Forget the rest!
When discussing the meaning of life there is but one master, one who has lived longer than us all and who has mastered life . You too will have ample time to grow and master life, life simply begins for you - on Earth.
Jesus knew the meaning of life. He also knows we can only handle a little bit of truth at a time/progress.. Jesus did not write anything, yet the core of his teachings endure. If you could call on anybody to answer your question, who would you most likely want to call? Hmmm...........
Peace..............

If the meaning of life is death, then what's the meaning of death?
And what happens when we finally, through technological means, conquer death? (It's only a matter of time...see the two books below.)

the meaning of life is not death, death is the inevitable consequence. life is avoiding death, and therefore everything up to but not including death.
