I have never had a problem doing it. Not that I've done it that much but a hand full of times.

If the other battery is dead or there is a short in the wiring of the car you are trying to jump, it is possible that you could pull too many amps and fry your alternator. good luck.

Only if you place the jumper cable connectors on the incorrect ( wrong) positions on the terminals on your battery. Most newer jumper cables are marked well to prevent this from happening.

not really...unless the battery is like..totally dead....but i wouldn't suggest u go on a jumping spree,cuz over time,i'm sure it will affect your alternator eventually.....
