LOL, I'm afraid I'm one who follows the platinum rule. I know I'm supposed to treat others like I want to be treated and love my enemy because God will be the one to judge, but dammit when someone pushes me I do push back!

First time hear about 'the platinum rule'. That's a good excuse to treat others badly. The 'golden rule', however, is not a good rule, however. It is not even an ethics rule, but a general, oversimplified guide of conduct. First of all, what does it really mean? Who actually knows for sure how they want to be treated themselves? It is much too objective, too much misunderstanding.

Yes, if by 'golden rule' you mean Aristotles' concept of golden mean.
There is a major flaw in the 'do unto others...' routine, it assumes that all people want to be treated the same. Its just not a good premise.

Yes I do. I can only hope that it will make a positive dent in society. I always try to treat others with respect. Another good one is "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all."
