A business suit. Male or female, a suit is always proper business attire. Jeans and a nice top are for casual wear and a skirt and a nice top are for work days. Every person - man or woman - should own an interview suit. Pax - C

From your other question, it seems that you are looking to publish a book. In this case, you don't need to worry about what to wear because you will be dealing with them by mail primarily. You will not call them or meet with them to pitch your manuscript, you will send a query letter.

Now, if you have an interview then you need to get a hold of a suit like everyone else that wants a job. Publishing is a business world and it seems that you aren't very informed yet. Do your research!

Be conservative, but trendy, too. If you have a cool suit from The Limited with either pants or a knee length skirt, wear it with a solid color shirt beneath the jacket--do not button the jacket. Or, a pencil skirt to the knee, with a pair of black pumps and a pretty sweater or blouse would work well, too. Try not to look frumpy, but also try not to look tacky. Watch the make-up aand jewelry. Limit both to the minimum you are comfortable with--and good luck!

I think jeans should be avoided, but a nice skirt and cute top (with no boobiture showing) will be great!

good luck!

look polished and put together. keep your hair out of your face and not too much make up you want to look fresh and clean. nice jeans would be okay but dress pants or a skirt would be even better. not any thing that shows too much skin though.

For a job interview, you should look professional. Business attire is the only good choice.

If they are meeting you because they want to publish your work, then you can go with either option. However, they will be in business attire and it will be to your advantage to meet them on their level; only if it is in appearance only.

Once you are established as a recognizable name in the field, then you can wear whatever you want-or even go nude-and they will still have to take you seriously.

anything you feel comfortable in that looks 'professional'. Do not go in looking like a slob -look a little bit dressy.

just think of it as a job interview, you want to look your best.
