Intel.com indicates that certain 800MHz, DDR2 mem. sticks are not compatible with your D946GZIS mobo. As a previous poster has indicated it may be only recognized as 667MHz,(more than likely), or may fail to boot, or post. I would not buy this memory as it's not what you need, but it sounds like you're getting it from an AMD system of some sort, and it will boost your ram. Ram compatibility concerns are physical fit,( for example DDR2 240pin ram will not fit in a DDR's 184pin slot.), Timings, Latency, Non-Ecc, or Ecc, Bus speed,(such as the 800MHz you listed),Configuration,(Sdram, DDR, DDR2, etc.), and Voltage. Check out Hardwaresecrets.com, they have info on memory,(ram), as well as all the other components of your computer.

Yes you can but BIOS will just clock it down to 667Mhz because your motherboard can only support up to ddr2 667.

Motherboards based on Intel's 965 chipset are the ones supporting ddr2 800.

You can install them...they will not utilize the speed...due to the Bus speed is only as high as 667 according to intel
