-Matchbox Twenty
I was looking for a music video of theirs and I accidently stumbled upon a vid of a live performance. It was awesome.

-AFI
I only know "Miss Murder", and I'm not really an AFI fan, but when I saw thier live presentation at some MTV awards, I was blown away by their live performance quality.

-Slayer
Not really a fan of Slayer, either, but they're pretty good live. I'd heard the song "Raining Blood" on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. When I was given the double-disc album "Headbanger's Ball: Vol.2", I heard a recording of a live performance of "Raining Blood". And, boy, were they perfect.

-The Killers
I like The Killers, but the whole use of the synthesizer made me doubt about their live presentation capabilities. When they were announced to perform at some MTV awards (live) I felt myself give a mental scoff: "Psh... most likely using a pre-fabricated track and lip-sync" I was slightly down-heartened about my own lack of faith.

BUT... when I saw and heard them do it all live and in motion (the lead singer walked away from where he started and covered a considerable amount of territory as he sang) I was once again a believer...Amen.
(I afterwards saw a presentation of theirs on PBS. I was flipping channels and when I thought I heard that familiar voice I turned back. Good live performance. Had songs from their album Hot Fuss, some special edition songs, and others that were yet to be released on the album Sam's Town.)

-The Beatles
Oh, come on. We've all seen those old black-and-white reel clips of them performing back in the day.
You see those girls with the Jackie O hairstyle, the sweaters, and knee-length skirts?
You see how they swoon and yell and cry and go crazy and faint as the police try to control the audience?!
THAT'S power... "LIVE PERFORMANCE" power.

To prove I'm being totally impartial, I'll tell you something about My Chemical Romance.
I love their music. I love their style. I love their CDs.

But they can't perform live worth a damn.
They most certainly can NOT.

(I still love 'em, though. Got some t-shirts, too. But I try to not let my feelings cloud my judgement.)

And an honorable mention to Johnny Cash.
I heard a few of his recordings during one of his performances at San Quentin.
That sh!t was crazy! You could hear the inmates so pumped-up it was like the place just wanted to fall apart!

1. Mushroomhead- crazy freakin show, way better than slipknots live performance too(i have nothing against slipknot)! Waylon had to tell us to calm down in the Mosh pit because it got so outa hand. i guy was covered in blood and everything. Mushroomhead was just amazing and then they hung out w/ everyone after the show so that was cool too.

2.Motley Crue on Carnival of Sins Tour- what another crazy freakin show! from the band riding out on choppers to Tommy Lee's Titty Cam to the fireworks and explosives, that was some of the funnest 2 and a half hours ive had!

3.Disturbed puts on a really good show-Ozzfest

4. Atreyu was good at Ozzfest

5. Linkin Park also does a really great show

Tied for #1 of all time:

-Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes, the closest us young folks will ever get to the real Zeppelin.

-Prince, Musicology Tour, he gave a GREAT show, tight band, and Prince is really underrated as a guitarist.

These were the only two concerts I've been to where the band/artist had your attention for the whole show.

Siouxsie & the Banshees were fun. So was Hawkwind, before Lemmie got the boot. Ronnie James Dio was cool, as IS Sammy Hagar.

But the best live band I ever saw - SLADE.
