Giving us a list of some movies you liked and other movies you did not like would help us answer your question. Since I'm flying blind, I'll just describe it and let you decide:
Blood Diamond is part action flick, part drama, part documentary. This means it has slow parts, heart-wrenching parts, and heart-pounding parts. It does not sugar coat Africa's tragedies, so don't expect it to be an upbeat movie.

If you want to watch some good movies then go rent Blood Diamond, The Departed, and The Last King Of Scotland.

Blood Diamond is a turd. They pretend to enlighten people about real issues surrounding the diamond industry, but they totally cop-out. It's a Disney-fied version of what could otherwise have been a great movie. And it DOES sugar-coat; the violence is only about 1/3 as bad as some I've seen in real life in Africa -- but this isn't a movie about violence, so it doesn't matter. There are sub-plots and background stories to this movie as well, and I didn't feel that these were in any way authentic. The real Solomon Vandy would have only refrained from killing Danny Archer because he wanted to find his son, so their frienship was not believeable. The relationship between Danny Archer and Maddy Bowen is also hard to swallow. The whole movie is hard to swallow. Full of Deus Ex Machina happy-endings. Skip it and watch the Last King of Scotland instead.
Better yet, watch Last King of Scotland or Hotel Rwanda, then watch Blood Diamond and see what I mean.

Yes. We thought it was an excellent movie. Leo DiCaprio has certainly grown up. If we get married next year we've also decided to shop for our wedding rings at Brilliant Earth.com, which sells clean Canadian diamonds, not conflict or "blood" diamonds that finance civil war and atrocities against innocent civilians in Africa.
It's a violent movie and hard to watch, but it's great and you'll learn something from it.

I liked it, the movie is an action movie, keeps you watching, crude in some scenes and very violent (love it). I think it's a good movie since all the actors do great in it, if you like Africa's landscapes, action, guns and lots of action, you should definitely watch it!

Not a movie for younger ones, I loved the movie i thought it was beast. The actor who plays Salomin Vandy is so beastly with alot of enthusiasm. Its kinda graphic with kids shooting people and gettin their hands cut off so not recommended for younger ones. Otherwise, very good i recommend!

Yes! Definatley a movie worth the money. Leo does a great job as an actor in the movie. Please watch this movie.

hell yeah!! my custodian teacher even saw that, and he said that it really is a good movie!! and i seen it back in december..
i also listened to the soundtrack, it was pretty boring, but its ok, the movie is overall 4 out of 5!!
