I have power windows, and all of them work except the driver's side window just stopped working while in the down position. It is a 1997 Mercury Sable.

not sure if it would be a fuse problem. I'm thinking if it is a fuse problem all of the windows would stop working unless each window has a seperate wire with a fuse. The glass maybe off the track or maybe the motor is acting up. I had a window get stuck once. what i did was hold the button to go upwards and pound the panel. I guess it was off the track.

You could have a bad switch or the switch is cracked underside. The plastic track could be broken. The window slipped from the window channel. You will have to remove the door panel. Check it with a 12 volt tester. You May have to have the whole power unit replaced as it is a one piece unit. But sometimes you can buy just the track at an auto parts store. But if you install yourself and break it, they won't replace it. You can try to find one at an auto parts, mucher cheaper then the dealer and a better warranty, usually lifetime.

that is not a problematic activity to do in any respect. If the administration is undesirable, you could probable restoration it your self. merely eliminate the administration panel off your door pad (because of the fact that i don't be attentive to what form of motor vehicle, you may merely could pry this panel off or eliminate the door panel to get the switches out.) Take the previous aspects to a salvage backyard, motor vehicle aspects save, or broking to verify up for a sparkling section. positioned the hot one in and you're set. If that's the motor interior the door, it is probable risky artwork and in the adventure that your boyfriends nerve-racking approximately this; i could not blame him. Take the motor vehicle to a powerfuble motor vehicle glass save to get the artwork executed. lots extra inexpensive than a usual mechanic and that they have got further information with skill domicile windows.

It is almost always the regulator but sometimes it is the window switch. If you can get a used one from a junk yard and try it first do that. If it still doesn't work take to shop for regulator

Check your fuses. I have no clue about cars but in my truck the fuse box in the drivers side dash. In the area that your door covers up when it is closed.
