The best goggles are the ones that fit YOU best. Everyone has a different face shape and preference so what works for one person might not work for you. You should be able to try on different types and pairs at your swim store or local sporting goods store and your best bet is to borrow from teammates and actually use different kinds until you pick the ones you like the best. Some people have rather small faces and some have deeper eye sockets or more sensitive nose bridges. You really need to try and figure out what works best for YOU!
Personally I can't wear Swedish goggles because they give me migraines due to the pressure on my eyes. Alot of people love them. I usually need child or women's specific frames becaise my face is small which limits my choices. For the past 2 seasons I have worn Nike Remora II Metallics. They fit my face and are prefect for open water and pool swimming as well and they fit my face. Nike goggles tend to run more narrow than Speedo and TYR. It's all about fit and comfort, there is no general "best" goggle.

I personally use Swedish go ogles. I found that because you put them together your self; you can make them fit better than any other type. How ever as with anything else to each his/her own.
Your best bet, is often at USS meets there are swim shops there who have a wide range of goggles, ask them to try on several different pairs.
To choose the right pair keep this in mind. The goggles should stay on your face with out the straps, not hurt the eyes and nose area. Often the goggles will be to tight and hurt the bridge of your nose. So shop around you will find the ones that are right for you.

I suggest the Speedo vanquishers, they tint the sun and fit very comfortabley, and last a while they are $14.95, If you dont like those you could try the Speedo Speed Socket mirrored goggles, I have heard great reviews about them and Michale Phelps wears them while practicing. They are $30 each. One last one I reccomend is by nike, they are called Remora III Goggles, they fit nicely and are cheaper then speedo and give you the same results, they are (right now) on sale for $5 ... I would get them while you can.
Hope this helped

Most competetive swimmers prefer Swedish goggles. The downside to these goggles is that they have no padding and take some time to get used to. They are inexpensive but are not normally comfortable for younger swimmers. For a younger swimmer I would recommend Speedo Hydrospex Jr. these are comfortable and are less likely to come off. I want to say that they are anywhere from 12- 18 dollars. I'm not positive though.

I have always had this horrible self-esteem problem right before a meet. I would get extremely nervous, even if there was nothing I was aiming for. My coach told me not to think about what I have to loose, but to how I would feel if I won. It must've been good advice, because I won my heat in the 50 free (haha, dropping a second in the process), placed second overall in the 100 backstroke and made my senior state cut (and it was the last qualifying meet I had before the championships). Anyways, I was always told to eat plenty of carbs THE NIGHT BEFORE. Carbs the same day as a meet wouldn't digest in time for your events. My best guess would be spagetti. Each lots of it, and cover it with sauce. Just make sure in the morning to drink plenty of water/Gatoraid. Without liquids, you get horrible side cramps. Eat something that'll fill you up also.

Speedo vanquishers are the best, they don't leak over time, they don't peel off of your face when you jump in and you don't have to stop and adjust them.......
@ http://kiefer.com they have them for 14 dollars, click on goggles under swim, go to speedo and you will find them in the right collum, seventh from the top
there are many other good speedo goggles, and if for some reason you don't like the vanquishers,
i would advise you to look at models similar to them because the thicker, broader goggles tend to come off when you jump in and leak over time

I always use Speedo's men Vanquisher Plus because they are great for practices. Especially when you are doing backstroke in the middle of the day and its bright and sunny. I always buy those goggoles. At first they are tricky to adjust the size of the googles, but once you learn how to do it, it's a wonderful google to use.

speedo is the best brand out there. Usally 20 bucks or more is good. I use a pair myself and they work great w/o any water getting in my eyes.
