hm, you can give her books like the Demonta series by Darren Shan that's about demons and werewolves or Cirqu du Freak which is about vampires also by Darren Shan. Of course there's always the classic Dracula, and if she's a little bit older like 12 and up she might like Twilight or New Moon, which are vampire romance novels. hmmm.... what else? of course Harry Potter is awsome. The Bartimeaus Trilogy is about wizards and demons, it's really neat. She might even like Stephen King-I'd recomend The Shining and Pet Semetary. Hope that helps!

Try history books. That is where Bram Stoker's book Dracula came from. He researched and modified local mythology. Greek mythology is not a bad source though it is sometimes obviously sexual in nature.

Personally I do not believe in such. But the stories can be intriguing. Another source might be ancient religions such as Egyptian stories of curses and mummies. Perhaps the Aztecs could scare up a good story. Most religions have some sort of demon associated with it. Consider dragons and old Europe as well.
