I would have to enjoy the history--and our contributions to the world, as Assyrians are Mesopotamians my ancestors were credited with the invention of the wheel, lens, glass, number 0, and countless other contributions.

Actually in response to the second question, those Marshes are known to be lands of the "Marsh Arabs"--who are known as Mandeans. Assyrians aren't Arab, and we are from northern Iraq.

Glad you guys know now that we exist! :)

Because of the (very inequitable) Moslem rules on marriage with non-Moslems, the Christian peoples of the Fertile Crescent are the closest representatives of the ancient inhabitants. Copts for Egypt, Assyrians for Iraq.
Arabs, Persians, Kurds and Turks have treated the Assyrians like doormats for centuries. It's a terrible story.

Yes I know.

For instance in Iraq those reed houses of the Marsh Arabs were Assyrians before Saddam Hussein destroyed the marsh environment and bulldozed living humans into ditches..

To be honest, I didn't even know the Assyrians existed, but I looked you up on yahoo. What part of your culture do you enjoy the most? I looked on wikipedia, and the art looks great.
