What do you think of Lilia-Faye as a first name? I started to feel better about this name after I saw the movie "Saved!" and one of the main characters was called Hilary-Faye. Although, don't think I'm copying that name.... I thought of it and then saw that movie.

So....
Lilia-Faye Whitney (my last name)
or..... Lilia Faye (my last name)

Too much of a mouthful, or just right?

Ok, just to clarify....
First Name: Lilia-Faye
Middle Name: Whitney (not set in stone)
THEN comes my last name. haha
Sorry. Not trying to insult anyone's intelligence. Just clarifying.

Also.... My child (someday) will of course be able to go by just Lilia if she pleases, or go by Lilia-Faye. That will always be her choice. :)

I like Lilia-Faye Whitney (your last name) .... I think it sounds cute and it flows..... not to mention it's different.... when she goes to school, you can bet there won't be another girl in her class with the same name .... not like when for example Brittney or Tiffany were popular and there were 4 of em in every class. I like it I think you should go with it!!
Good Luck to you and I'm sure she'll be beautiful.

Lilia Faye Lastname

I came in to say exactly what trishalynn just said - if you put in the hyphen, that poor girl is going to have problems her ENTIRE LIFE when filling out forms. The hyphen will be confusing to test graders, banks, government agencies... and in addition to the SAT problems taht trishalynn mentioned, she'll be a problem for the IT department when they try to assign her a username and can't use a hyphen.

A friend of mine is known by a two-name first name (Jena Lee), and she enjoyed being able to easily shorten it to just "Jena" when she was going through the "finding myself" phase in high school. Now she's older and likes Jena Lee again, and that's what everyone calls her. She didn't need a hyphen to make sure that people know that she's Jena Lee and not just Jena.

I suggest you stick with Lilia Faye Whitney __ or just Lilia Faye __.

This is such a cute name. But she is going to have so much trouble filling out standardized test forms. Most don't have a hyphen bubble. It doesn't sound like a big deal but they keep coming out with more and more of these tests. All through school she will take two or more of these tests a year. You have to put the name that appears on your birth certificate and that will be hard if they don't have the punctuation bubble for part of your first name. Maybe Lillia Faye-Whitney if you want to do the hyphen thing. or just Lillia Faye but the hyphen is going to cause lots of problems later on. Lillia Faye is an adorable name though. Kudos on your taste in names.

If you give a kid a chance to shorten their name, they will. It may look really cute on the birth certificate and when you tell everyone what you named him or her they'll think it's cute. But trust me, as soon as they start school it will just be Lilia. Either they will shorten it themselves or their friends do and they just get used to it. Suffice to say, when you call their college dorm room many years from now you'll hear an answering machine message to the effect, "Hi! You've reached Lilia, I can't come to the phone right now..." and the hyphenated Faye will be a distant memory.

There is a chance she grows up insisting on being called the full Lilia-Faye (I had a friend who insisted on Jillian as opposed to Jill). However, anyone who isn't friends or family with her will consider it obnoxious.

It sucks, but that's human nature. We all love nicknames and short names.

Forget just being known as Lilia. She'll be Lil! My cousin is LisaAnn (no space between Lisa and Ann) she is just Lee to all of us. I wouldn't hyphenate. If you like the 3 names then do it. Btw - Lillia-Faye Whitney sounds beautiful. You can take away the Faye or the Whitney and it is still beautiful.

Use Lilia for the first name and Faye for the middle name. Nice and simple. The hyphens and extra names and whatnot are just too much.

Lilia is a beautiful name! I wouldn't overload it with Faye. Make that her second name.

Lilia Faye Whitney

You have two last names? Whitney and Faye, not hyphenated? It's confusing the way you've said your name.

In that case, how about:

Lilia Laurann Faye-Whitney

Good luck!

I am not a fan of the hyphenated name. Why not Lilia Faye Whitney (your last name)?
Especially for girls, its fun for them to play with when they are teens.
If you like the hyphen, go with the hyphen.
