In the show "Frasier", is Niles and Frasier Crane suppose to be British? Because they live in America and their dad is American but they both have somewhat of a British accent. Always thought that was odd.

No.they are American,just uptight shrinks with very high I Q 's .They went to the best schools& like the better things in life. But the dad is down to earth & a very good addition to the show.

The Crane brother history is American. Although the characters have a British and Russian heritage. Their accents are not British.

Their Mother subjected them to the fine arts throughout their lives, I guess the "accent" is supposed to reflect their well cultured, affluent lifestyle!

No....they were raised in Seattle Washington.

They're supposed to be snobs....thus the accent.

They're not British they're just hoity toity and proper. That's what makes the show so funny.

i donnot think they were to be brits just well educated men at ivy league ,schools and had the best taste in culture type activities,the opera,wine tasting,cars
