Ranma 1/2 and Maisok Ikkoku are by the same author.

Ranma 1/2 is a little more comedy-centered (Inu-Yasha more action), and Maison Ikkoku is more romance-centered. But all three are very good.

InuKami! has some similarities but it has comedy appeal and some more mature scenes. I'd rate it around PG13, simply because there's a lot of sugguestive material.

One that you may like is Shounen Omnyouji, which is about a boy who is trying to follow in his grandfathers footsteps to become a great Omnyouji (Demon exorcist). It takes place in fuedal China. The boy realizes his powers with the help of a demon he dubs Mokkun. There is more to Mokkun than meets the eye... A very good series, and very recent. It still aires in Japan.

Her Majesty's Dog, I'm pretty sure it's still just a manga but it's the closest thing I could think of. The characters look strikingly similar. If I'm wrong.....so sorry.
