Okay please don't take this wrong way, because I have no idea how old you are, but a great way to get over writers block is to have sex. Well more so an orgasm. Another thing you may want to try is to fast for a day. When I say fast I mean, to just drink water. These are things that clear your mind and help you think better. Another thing is to brainstorm with a small group of friends share with them what you have so far and things you were thinking may work, sometimes that helps as well.

OK. So I'm not a huge writer at all. I just love to read. But I know some writers and the best advice I've ever heard about block is this:

Stop writing what you're working on and go to something else. It could be a scene further on in the same work. It could be another piece of writing entirely. Stick with it until you feel you've loosed up. Might take days. Might take a couple weeks. Then go back to the place where you were ground down and give it another shot.

Also -- don't be too hard on yourself. Writers are always bullies to themselves.

MUSIC! I listen to music every single time I write and let me tell you what...I get more thoughts then I can keep up with! If that doesn't help, then try reading over everything you did finish writing and see if it sparks anything. Coffee shops are also great for releasing the block too. Read through a few books in what your writing, and take notes, or even purchase the book and use it as research material. I hope something helps! I'm taking a break after writing two chapters of a book and I have writers block too! HAHA! To the coffee shop I go!

OKAY! Trilli to the rescue. Let's see. Writer's block. What's the thing that you hate doing the most? Tell yourself that you either write or go do that thing. For me it's cleaning the fish tank. I'd rather eat mud.

Go to your bookshelf and pull a book down, flip to a random page, get a thought, and go with it. (put the book down and get yourself back into your seat and start writing).

if that doesn't work you're just not inspired. Get yourself out into the world, and get some expierence and then go home and write about it.

Someone said that he was lucky enough to be inspired at 9 am every morning. That's direction. Use it and you won't loose it.

Good luck.

Trilli

Watch your favorite movie in the genre you like to write. Watch two if you need to in order to stay up pretty late. Go to bed when you're really drowsy but not exhausted. Let the movies and your latest writing float through your mind as you fall asleep. When you wake up, don't rack your brain trying to think of something, go take a nice long hot shower instead. Odds are, before you leave the shower, the ideas will come. Good luck and don't give up.

Whenever I have writers block, I don't write. I go do something else. Then, I come back to it with a fresh mind and a good attitude. I also try to read other stuff to give me ideas and maybe do a writing prompt to get my mind thinking.

First of all you need to relax and not get all worked up before you sit down to write. You HAVE to think positively or you won't get much done. Try to kinda "warm up" your imagination (especially if you are writing fictional material) by doing something creative like opening up Microsoft Paint and doodling (lol I've done that too). The main thing is to take it easy and be inspired so you are confident when you begin to write.

Maybe you can stop writing first. Put it aside. Take a break. Go people watching. I like spending an afternoon in a coffee shop watching people pass by and make up stories about them. Maybe that'll help get the creative juices flowing.

I TOTALLY know how you feel!!
what works for me is take a break for about half an hour reading your fav. book, something have already read, while listening to music, but not like punk rock or rap, something with a message ( I like John Lennon and U2) and then get back to work, but keep the music on, quietly.

I always find reading a book or taking a nap helps inspire me. Just stop writing for a while and take a breather.
