how long does it take for tom nook to finish rebuilding the shop??? how long??? i need to know!

When you've spent or sold to Tom Nook a total of 25,000 bells worth of stuff, he closes Nook's Cranny and opens Nook 'N' Go. Then when you've spent or made 65,000 bells, he closes Nook 'N' Go and opens Nookway. Then when you've spent or made 150,000 bells AND someone from
another village has visited Nookway, he closes for the last time and opens the final 2-story Nookington's. He does send you a letter every time he closes his store and you can't shop for the entire day, whatever day it is.

the day he is rebuilding, the shop is closed for the entire 24 hour day. the shop will open the next day though
