Do you mean you're autistic? For one thing, you could write to the producers and tell them about yourself and what a big fan you are and how much you would love to visit the set and do a walk on role :-) It couldn't hurt, right?

As for getting more than that, first you have to have the drive, then you have to have the talent, then most of all you have to have luck and lots of it!

Yes, you need an agent and to work on One Life to Live you need to go to NY where they film. All USA based soap operas film in NY or Los Angeles.

If you want to find a legitimate agent to represent you for commercials, TV & film go to Sag.org. Use the dropdown menu on the right labeled 'resources' and choose 'agent information'. On the next screen, on the left choose 'Find a SAG franchised agent' and follow the directions. You can look up agents all over the US, but there are higher concentrations where the work is (Los Angeles, NY, IL, FL, GA etc.)

Then you can send them your headshot (or snapshot), and a cover letter stating that you are seeking representation and mentioning your particular circumstances and wait to see if they call you in for an interview.

Once you have an agent, they will get you the auditions, but you also have to wait until One Life to Live has need for a character like you. Your agent can let the Casting Agent know specifically that you are interested in working on their show and when something comes up, hopefully they will call you in and give you a shot.

Break a leg!

Hi,

the first question is, do you have training as an actor?

If the answer is yes, proceed to the next step of how to find an agent.

If the answer is no, get yourself into a school that teaches you how to act and continue your training. Learn a solid acting method, that teaches you public solitude, how to access your emotions, how to make choices, how to break down a scene and that will give you the base you need to be ready to, first of all, get an agent (because without good training, even that will be difficult) and then to be able to work on shows like that.

Like someone else said, there are different types of roles: extras, featured extras, under five (lines), day player, recurring roles, principal, for example.

But if you are not in NY, it will be difficult. The first roles you wil probably be able to get, especially if you have no experience will be extra, or MAYBE and under five. To do that, you will have to have contacts and to have worked the beat so that you are known to the casting directors.

There are different ways to do that. One way is, there are schools that have forums, workshops and classes conducted by casting directors, that teach techniques that have to do with soaps. Those are good, because it's not like a regular audition, but you actually get to spend time with a casting director and they can see what you're made of. They might like you and call you in for an audition or directly for a job.

I could go on, but let it suffice to say, that first of all, you need to study.
Secondly, you need to go to NY.
Thirdly, when you do start contacting casting directors, the soaps usually have casting directors who cast ONLY extras, under fives and/or day players and different casting directors who cast for prinicpal roles.

Anyway, good luck and remember, don't be in so much of a hurry to act, that you forget to build your base! If you want to know what that means, e-mail me.

You keep on asking about getting on "One Life to Live." There are thousands of people who devote their entire lives to acting and never get a break like that. Even if you do devote your life to it you can't pick and choose what shows you'd like to be on. You don't live in N.Y. and you're not a trained actor. It's fine that you love the show, but it's just not realistic for you to think you can act on the show. I'm sorry to tell you that but I hate to see people wasting their time wishing for things that simply will not happen. Write your favorites fan letters and I'd bet that a few if not all would be happy to send you an autographed picture. But I'm saying this because I want to help you, forget being on the show and move on with your life.

For any acting job you need a headshot and resume. The lead characters are useually hired by agents but dayplayers, who will be hired to do extra work for the day do not.

Hon, to work on the soaps, you have to live in NYC or close to NYC. I acted on One Life to Live, as well as the other NYC, soaps, they contacted me directly for speaking roles.

I was suggested for a princial role, but, it fell through aaaagghh! Ah, that's showbiz, love it or leave it!
