I have no clue. I have always asked myself that. The only conclusion I have come to is these people are selfish.

It's much easier for them to be content than to want more out of life. After a few years together they begin to wonder what happened in the marriage. Marriage takes much effort on both parts and one can't do all of the work. Sometimes we just don't love enough to put the effort into something.

Could be all kinds of reasons like money and security. Nothing meaningful, but they obviously don't care.

maybe they think, this is all i have to offer, or look at they way they were raised, they maybe following what they learned/see - or better yet, they may think "if it aint broke don't fix it"
