He has otosclerosis, a disease which was causing him to slowly go deaf, but he underwent corrective surgery. He also suffers from migraines.

Grissom was shown to be losing his hearing for a few episodes but then they seemed to have dropped that story line for now.

I heard they were going to have him develop a hearing problem. I also heard he was going to have Parkinson's Disease. IDK what is going on. I like him though. I hope he stays.
