If the US dropped a nuke on Iran, would this stablize the middle east, and make things safer for America?

it would probably be the beginning of World War III! which means it won't be safe for ANYONE, especially not the U.S.A.

I am afraid that it wouldn't do anything but get alot of people killed, and others angry at the U.S. . The problem with dropping nukes on a country like Iran, is that then we would be dealing with China, North Korea, Russia, and lord knows who else that have nukes of their own. We could be looking at the total destruction of the world as we know it.
Personally, I still think that we need to eliminate Iran's nuclear capabilities, as well a North Korea and China's. But to do that without launching a total nuclear war, is dicey at best.

i doubt it. all the nuclear powers in the world need is an excuse to fling some payloads at the states. Really, the only thing that america has done by becoming a world power is make themselves a target. and the only thing stopping the middle east attacking first is the fact that the rest of the world would stomp them up. but if america hit first then i say that we would b looking at the third war. and anyway what right does america have to do such a thing. { you dont see things my way, you dont agree with what i say and you dont do what i tell you so im gonna beat you up} sounds less like a world power and more like a playground bully.

nukes are never OK, nuking iran would immediately make us the enemy of the entire world and + if we use ballistic missiles to deliver the blast it would either go right over europe or china and i doubt either of them would appreciate a missile tracing through the sky heading in their direction. on top of that you have packistan and india right next to iran and i doubt they would like the fact that the missiles would be landing in their backyards. using nukes is asking for any of these other countries to retaliate.

I don't think 1 nuke would be enough. It would need to be a devastating attack that would leave Iran without an effective option for response.
As for the rest of the world I don't see anything to be concerned about. After all they couldn't muster the guts or the military force to take on Serbia and stop the slaughter in the Europe.

World opinion would be really anti-america if they tried it now.
But...They (muslim extremists)cried holy war and they are being funded by Iran and Saudi Arabia and probably Pakistan and a few others. And...it is an eye for an eye in their book. And think of all the glorious martyrs and how much time it would save as they wouldn't have to blow themselves up one at a time near an Iraqi police station.
But no, it is a bad idea.

Does anyone remember when the Shah of Iran wanted to come to the United States for cancer treatment and he was refused?
Well, his son is living in the United States waiting to sit on the Peacock throne if we would should happen to take control of Iran.
The dictator that is there now wants to push Israel into the sea. that is their threat..and they are going to use the nuke on Israel if they get a chance. The Iranians have make that pretty clear.
Israel did go into Iran one time before and blew up a reactor but they are being told by the USA not to go in again or they will with hold money from them.
If the US would nuke Iran it would help us win the war in Irag because Iran is training insurgents to go into Iraq and kill our soldiers.
As John Mccain said bomba bomba, bomba.

this would destabalize the region and other countries would get very pissed at us. that would not be a good thing for the USA our nukes should only be used as a deterrent or in retaliation for an attack on us.

sometime the powers of the Woprld could come to realize that their desires to push Israel into the sea will consequence in easy terms of their own destruction. whilst are human beings going to settle for the reality that the Jewish human beings, the State of Israel are perpetually below the watchful eye of God. But I will open a bicycle store and start selling bicycles. Since no one's really gona drive with gas at 100 bucks a gallon.
