Cats - I love the way they take care of themselves. Ours also always seem to know when we are upset or hurt. They will crawl up on our laps and rub their heads on our hands and the one will put her head on my wife's shoulder as to hug her. In addition when we go on trips we only have to have somebody stop by the house every day and check food and water, scoop litter and they are all set. No walking, no cleaning cages/tanks, no barking/whining at three in the morning, no horrendous odor, etc. Cats are great.
