There are no "mini casinos" in fast food restaurants (well, Blueberry Hill & The Peppermill do, but they're not fast food) ... but there are slot areas in grocery stores and gas stations. I worked at McCarren for 5 years, and there are only slot machines there ... no tables, no poker rooms. The machines do pay out sometimes (not as well as the casinos, though) ... I've had plenty of people miss (or almost miss) flights due to winning. You don't really have as much time as you think to leave the airport and hit a casino ... oh, and the Tropicana is on the SOUTH end of the strip ... but you do whatever you want.

Depends on the conventions in town that week and the schedule. But buy all day to be honest with you . If there is an event like All Star Weekend last winter, the times there is no NBA game the tables are crazy with people. But it is a 24 hour town so it can get wild and then slow again.
Wish I could give you a time specific answer but that is impossible.

6pm-midnight Saturday.
It looks like a ghost town on Wednesday night when compared to Saturday night.
