Can someone be forgived and also maybe he really opened his eyes to what he actually has to lose and knows in his heart that the only place for him is forever with you.
Some do learn,can some forgive?

I'm recovering from a major betrayal now. It came from my former best friend of nearly 21 years. I have to remove myself from the situation- no further contact of any sort, amongst other things. It hurts like hell and feels like a piece of me is dying.

I'm having to accept that I am powerless over this person and situation. I want to fight it with every ounce of strength left in my being, but deep down I know that it would probably cause even more misery later. I have resolved to deal with this loss the only way I really can: one day at a time.

Step back, take a deep breathe over and over. I had my best friend betray me so fast and so suddenly I was shaking. First, look into the mirror, tell yourself "No one deserves to be treated this badly" say it until you believe it.
Then immerse yourself into an inner passion/talent. Take your mind off of it and let yourself be taken with this new focus.
This is very hard, but you must do it, and trust me YOU WILL! Let go. Be friendly to the person that hurt you, but don't think about how badly s/he hurt you. Don't let them take over your life. Someday, it won't be you that is hurt it will be him/her. S/he'll see what a great person you are and regret what s/he did. Just let go and talk with your other friends.

Sending you my love

One doesn't. With each betrayal comes less trust and more cynicism until trust is impossible.

Remember, forgivesness is giving the person permission to hurt you again.
